Labor camps/colonies are proposed to be constructed near the project construction site. The total construction time is about four to five years, and the average and peak number of workers required at the construction site will be 100 to 200, respectively. The water requirement for this kind of labor is approximately 45 liters per day. The domestic water requirement for the construction site is high since most of the construction site lies in an industrial zone, where the domestic water supply is limited.
In the project construction phase, the major source of pollutant which is contributed to water pollution to the environment is sewage from labor camps/colonies. One community toilet can be provided for every 20 people. Sewage from the community toilets can be collected in sewage tanks. Disposal of sewage on a daily basis is one of the major problems occurring, mainly on construction sites where the common municipal sewage systems are not available.
The most common way to deal with daily waste was to transport domestic sewage by using sewage vacuum tankers. However, this process was both time-consuming and expensive. Compared to this, the alternative is to treat sewage waste onsite. Chemtronics' Decentralized Green STP AD+ Sewage Treatment Plant is the most suitable solution for dealing with daily sewage waste water efficiently. Apart from the domestic sewers, the labor camp also contains particles of cement and sand as the workers take baths or wash their hands. This makes conventional sewage treatment processes difficult. Chemtronics provides a customized Green STP solution for removing these impurities too. The sewage is proposed for treatment before disposal to avoid deterioration in the quality of the receiving water bodies. It can also be reused.
